I'm new to this! I'm asking questions and learning how to be clear about who I am while I figure where we're headed.
I'm also sharing what helps me stay oriented instead of getting lost.
This is my beginner's journey in getting started with Digital Marketing., and these are a few things I've learned already from actually showing up.
Starting off, the biggest challenge isn't necessarily the quality of your work.
It’s being seen.
You can create the best product, clearest guide, or offer wildly helpful advice, but if no one notices, it won’t matter.
Visibility is the foundation of growth, connection, and success.
These are a few thigs I've been able to narrow down so far.

Find Where People Already are
Who is your audience and where does she spend her time? What places, platforms, or communities do your potential followers or customers gather?
Jot it down!
You have to get in front of her.
You can do it online but remember your local community! Look for online forums, local clubs, or social media groups where your people are and enthusiasts hang out. If you’re offering advice on gardening, join community gardens or online groups focused on plants.
I love networking and public speaking. But I also love decorating and design and plants! Polymath? Or ADHD? Maybe a little of all of the above.
Showing up in the right places increases your chances of being noticed. Learn! What do your people care about? What questions do they have? Share what you know! Share what you're learning! Answering these will help you tailor your message to meet their needs.
Help People Feel Less Confused
At the start, maybe what you offer isn't a product. Maybe it's clarity. When you offer that, they're going to understand what you do and how it helps. They want to feel sure before they commit.
"Keep it simple" rule. You reduce confusion by providing clear easy-to-understand information. If you’re a new fitness coach, you don’t start by pushing complex workout plans. You'll hop into your chosen sphere to share easy tips that beginners can follow. Help them understand why exercise matters and how to get started.
When your content or message helps people make sense of something, they stay longer and trust you more.
If you don’t, they're out.
Be Clear About Who You Serve
Trying to appeal to everyone backfires. If your message is vague, people won’t know if it’s meant for them. You need to say who your work is and isn't for.
If you create art tutorials, you might say your lessons are for beginners who want to learn watercolor painting, not for advanced artists looking for professional techniques.
Clarity helps the right people find you and feel comfortable engaging.
This will money and time but most of all, energy!
You won’t waste effort trying to please everyone, and your audience will appreciate your honesty.
Use Numbers to Ask Questions, Not Give Answers
In the beginning it's easy to focus too much on stats like follower counts or likes. But it's not a complete picture. It's data! They point to questions you get to explore. And exploring can often to lead to even better content!
if a post gets fewer views than usual. More data. Ask why. Was the topic less interesting? Did you post at a different time? Did the message connect with your audience?
Numbers are tools to help you learn, not reasons to just stop or change direction. Think deeper on what the data knows and adjust upon insight.

Show Up Every Day with Purpose
Consistency matters, but only if you know where you’re going. Posting or showing up every day without a clear goal leads to burnout and frustration.
Before you commit to daily activity, decide what you want to achieve. Are you building awareness? Growing a community? Sharing knowledge? Once you have a direction, every post, comment, or interaction should move you closer to that goal.
For example, if your goal is to build a community of beginner writers, focus on sharing tips, asking questions, and encouraging discussion. I think that might be what I'm doing here. )
Don’t just post random content to fill space.
Purpose preserves energy keeps us focused and steady's progress.

Final Thoughts
Being visible isn't about perfection or having the best product. It’s about showing up with answers and solutions, knowing you are and who you serve.

How do you stay oriented and on purpose?
